“With bright colors and vigorous brushstrokes, I strive to capture the feeling of a place. The varieties of landscape here in North Carolina, mountains, water, architecture, become the jumping off points for uncovering a mood. Using the colors of light and atmosphere and lively brushstrokes, I explore spreading that mood over the whole image, so that all the parts serve the whole.”
